What if they dropped the Need for Speed title, and instead made their spin-offs into individual franchises; Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 4: Re-enlisted Need for Speed: Underground 3: Revenge of the Kei Cars Need for Speed: The Run 2 They've technically done this with the Shift series. It went from Need for Speed: Shift to Shift 2: Unleashed.

Underground 2 is a way better game than the first one, there's tons of more content, the graphics are better, handling is better, deeper customization, etc. The first one isn't bad just fairly bare bones compared to the 2nd. Racing games I feel are must haves (street racing) ~. Juiced. The Fast and the Furious. THUG 1 is a really drag to go back to with how the game looks (grey and bown), and by how openly empty some of the levels can feel. Im basing this off of being a huge Tony Hawk fan, and having played them both just last summer. 2 is just a more polished and more fun to look at game. MIdnight club 3:it's faster,has alot more cars (better list overall)and to me it edges out nfsu2 on customisation.Nfasu2 has NO racing stripes whatsoever and you can craete things like a number plate.It totally gives underground a kicking when it comes to gameplay,though it can be a bit frustrating. Facts. I like it more as well. The progress in nicely paced and the handling is just really good imo. Nicely direct and kind of on rails to better nail the racing line and be fast. If it was the 'NEXT' underground, it WOULD be called underground 3. In no where in that forum post (funny that you link a forum post) does it states that Need For Speed 2015 is Underground 3 or Underground 2's spiritual successor. As a matter of fact, I can confirm what I said, just look at the NFS 2015 wiki page, under the development section.
