getyour electrical tape and cut 3 small squares off, each the same size as the top of that little bit of metal you have and put the tape on the TOP of the metal (its the side with the dimple rather than the nipple) now with the 3 bits of tape on top of each other your ready to ut the switch back together again, place the metal poppy thing

Ihave a 156GTA Selespeed, previously having owned a 2000 156 2.0 Selespeed. I believe the 147GTA Selespeed is the same as mine. The gear changes are much smoother and rapid and the inegration of the selespeed system with the six speed box and the GTA engine has been done very well.
Cindy suspect you should proceed carefully, find a good Alfa repairer and ask them to check the clutch rod length (should be 28.0 - 28.5), replace Selespeed relay
Youare not stupid for buy an Alfa but perhaps a little for buying a Selespeed Get you mechanic to open the fill bung at the fornt of the gear box. if at lot of oil comes out of that opening then the SS oil is leaking on the back plate of the actuator & getting ino the box. Low oil level can be caused by the 'sphere' been faulty. its a part that can be bought
