In the past it didn't do this, now it does. He has 151,000 miles with the original tensioner & serpentine belt. Bought the more expensive honda oem tensioner (31770-PNA-023

pennsylvania, usa. Aug 26, 2015. #14. According to a CRV board, this problem goes back as far as 2008, so Honda has been "working on a fix" for a long time. I assume you are aware of the "workaround" - turn the key but don't start the car, wait a few seconds, turn it back off, then turn key the whole way to start the car.

Normally, I'd agree. But, we are on the third year of the 8th Gen models and they still have major brake problems. Honda knows there is a problem but they keep selling them to unsuspecting customers. I bought my Accord because Honda was known for reliability and the Accord was an established model (mines an '09). Up until now, I didn't realize
Well I had a 9th gen Si actually that I traded in for an accord when me and my wife had our twins. The clutch was def different from the one I test drive. Also another Q, does the 8th gen Si engine stay on for a few seconds even after turning the key in off and then taking it out? My previous 9th gen Si turned off right away when I took the key Step 1 – Run the self-diagnostic function. Running a self-diagnosis can help identify the problem. To diagnose the problem, press the MODE (VENT/FLOOR) button several times. The LED should flash on and off as you press the button. Turn the ignition and the fan switch to the "OFF" position. SRS Light came on and took it to Honda and at first they told me that it was the passenger weight sensor. So there I go and buy the part out of state at a different Honda stealership. I take it to Honda and get it replaced. So I was so happy light turned off. My wife was driving the car out of the lot. 9th Gen if you can afford it. 8th Gen is where Honda was trying out a few things and they didn't quite work. The 2.4 I4 had issues with VTC actuators, while V6 5AT had the infamous oil consumption and VCM disaster, so the only 8th Gen that's really safe to buy is the V6 6-speed Coupe, which is probably not on your list.
