A quick guide for changing a Peugeot 307 2003 2.0L Petrol DOHC fuel injected RFN timing belt. Some Important Notes; Peugeots number there cylinders from the gearbox, number 1 being closest. I believe firing order of all Peugeot 4 cylinder engines is the same; 1 3 4 2, #1 plug being next to the clutch/gearbox end of the engine.
The cam phaser is a part of the variable valve timing system. When it is bad, the Check Engine Light might come on, you might notice reduced engine performance and there might be a rattling noise. To replace a cam phaser, expect to spend $750 to $2,500, unless you can do it yourself.
